COVID-19 vaccines: the global dementia movement and how you can help
It has been almost a year since the word ‘COVID-19’ became a familiar term and concept to us all. During this time, we have learned how to adapt and modify the way we approach life during a global pandemic. Hopefully, our everyday life will continue to change for the better as different COVID-19 vaccines continue to be distributed around the globe.

During this 75-minute webinar, ADI will explore where we are currently at in the development and deployment of COVID-19 vaccines and what this means for the worldwide dementia community. As we already know, those living with dementia continue to make up a large part of the most at-risk group. Carers too, more than ever, need continuous support, to protect their own health and wellbeing and to enable them to continue in their vital roles.

This webinar will also examine the different successes achieved in the prioritisation of people living with dementia receiving vaccines, as well as the work that still needs addressing, such as ensuring equitable access for those in lower- and middle-income countries.

Join us for this as we discuss current and ongoing vaccine research, how we can support equitable vaccine distribution and other lessons that we continue to learn during the pandemic. There will also be the opportunity for registrants to submit questions ahead of the webinar, which will be addressed following speaker presentations.

Speakers will include:
Dr Shalini Desai, Medical Officer in the Immunization, Vaccines and Biologicals Department at the World Health Organization (WHO)
Fiona Carragher, Director of Research and Influencing, Alzheimer's Society (England, Wales and N. Ireland)
Dr Jennifer Bute, Person living with dementia and Founder of Glorious Opportunity. Member of Dementia Alliance International (DAI)
